Fast Search

MFT records on the existing file system are scanned.

Used to recover accidentally deleted files.

Complete Search

Fast search and raw search are being performed. During raw search, cluster data are analyzed to determine files and folders, as well as their size (complete list of supported file types.)

Used if deleted files were not found using fast search. Data structures of disk will be analyzed and more deleted files may be found.

By default, temporary files/folders and temporary Internet files are skipped (more information about these settings.)

Recycle Bin Search

Used to recover deleted files emptied from Recycle Bin.

Temporary Internet Files Search

Used to recover deleted temporary internet files.
